I get my strength from my son Nate

9/22/2010 4:37 PM

Some people say they get there strength from a parent, grandparent, etc. I get my strength from my son Nate. As I sit here at the hospital with him, I realize how precious and carefree he is, he is also so strong. After having a long night of getting up to go pee all night long, even once having a accident he looked at the IV Fluid machine and said well I guess when you are hooked up to that it's going to happen. Couple hours later he woke up to have breakfast, he started to vomit. He was fine he never got upset. He still laughs and plays like its just a normal day. I can tell he is starting to loose his appetite from this chemo treatment and I know that it will be 5-6 days before he really wants to eat. I tell myself he will be fine. He has so many people praying all over the world for him. Nathan will be a miracle. At the end of the day all I can say is that CANCER SUCKS! but I know I will be able to look back in 9 months and be a stronger mother, wife and friend. I know I will be able to help others who have found themselves in this same situation, and I know this because Nathan shows be he can get through it everyday just fine.

  1. Hello my name is Lynn Weller and my daughter Jessica was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma as well. She was a stageIII when they found out. Her cancer was the soft matasis tissue spreading through her chest cavity and almost into her right lung. I was told by the doctors there wasn't any hope for her, and St Judes refused to treat her. I was working overseas in Afghanistan when I w=found out about my daughter. Today she is cancer free thanks to Md. Anderson in Houston Texas and their Staff. She was treated by Dr. Hughes at Md. Anderson he is the Assistant Profeesor for the Research Center out there who Specializes in Ewing Sarcoma. She went through 21 weeks of chemo and all of her tumors went away except one. They hhad to do sy=urgery on her and remove it. She had to have part of her 12th rib and all of her 11th rib removed and the biopsy came back 100% dead cells so we didn't have to go through Radiation treatments. She was selected for a study trial called Immthere. It helps train her T-Cells in her body to attack any cancer cells if they come back. You can see what for trials may be available for Nathan on "Clinicaltrials.gov" If you would like to talk to me or my family I would be more than happy to help you out with any information. you can contact me at lynniniraq@yahoo.com I will give you my telephone number once you email me. My cousin from Pennsylvania sent me this message so I hope it finds you well. I was told there was no hope for my daughter but I am here to tell you there are miracles out there and my daughter has been one of those miracles. I have a good idea what you are going through and will do as much as possible to help you out.
Take care and "God Bless You"
